What you’re about to read is Part One and the early beginning of Part Two, which are, approximately, the first one hundred fifty pages of Shadows on the Wall. The play is divided in five parts and runs one thousand two hundred ninety-eight pages.

 

Shadows on the Wall is about an idealistic crown prince, Beltram Kallispell, who tries his best to improve the lives of ordinary people, acknowledging that those in power, including the emperor, his father, are suppressing them and are calloused to their suffering.

 

So here’s Part One. It covers an uprising against the oppressing rulers. One of its purposes is to define the world into which Beltram is about to be born …
