CONTRACT
SHADOWS ON THE WALL
The author is willing to sell the rights to this play. Main aspects of the sale, as currently envisioned, are as follows:
IN EXCHANGE FOR 1.2 BILLION DOLLARS, THE BUYER WILL GET:
* all rights of reproduction, such as print rights
* all rights to make abridgements and other derivative works
* all public performance rights (production rights)
* ownership of the author’s handwritten rough draft
* ownership of the printed (typed) rough draft with handwritten corrections
* ownership of the final, printed (typed) copy with the author’s signature
* ownership of all the original maps beautifully framed
BESIDES MAKING THE UP-FRONT PAYMENT, THE BUYER WOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING OBLIGATIONS TO THE AUTHOR (SELLER):
* to ensure the author is given suitable name recognition on all copies and derivative works of the play
* to transfer to the author all monies received from literary awards and similar awards
* to grant back to the author a license to print a limited number of copies of the play
* to supply the author with one copy of a professional quality visual recording of the first performance
